Opening Ceremony One Week Away

Global Finals Opening Ceremony 2011

By the end of 2011, over 100,000 students in over 30 countries were creating solutions to complex, open-ended challenges with their roots in science, technology, engineering  math, improv, theatre arts and community service. One week from now, Wednesday, May 23rd, the teams who earned the right to represent their country, state or province will be at the Opening Ceremony of Destination Imagination Global Finals 2012. The event will be attended by over 8,000 students who make up the 1,200 competing teams. Teams qualified earlier this year in competitions by age group and the challenge in which they competed.

GlobalFinals.org will be updated throughout the event with stories, videos and thousands of photos. This year marks the introduction of DITV which will feature live video, including opening and closing ceremonies and additional content through the week. DITV, which will be here on GlobalFinals.org, will  feature student reporters and strive to bring the flavor of the Global Finals experience to the friends and families of the participants and volunteers of the event.
